The I-635 main lanes were widened for the LBJ Express Project, completed in 2015. The overall configuration of the interchange remained similar.

I-635 at the Dallas North Tollway: Looking east. Interstate 635 has been rebuilt and three tolled managed lanes have been added. The managed lanes are at the same level as the main lanes at the Dallas North Tollway, but are sunk below the main lanes in the rest of the corridor.
