Looking southbound at Luna Road. North of I-635, I-35E has 6 main lanes and 2 HOV lanes. Frontage roads are continuous.

Two reversible managed lanes were built in the center area of the freeway, opening in 2017. In 2022 work started on the the second and final phase, which will widen the freeway to 8 main lanes (4 each way).
