Sections of I-35 in this segment have been modified since these photos were taken. Elevated collector-distributor lanes were added in the downtown area, opened October 18, 2021. Elevated managed lanes were added between Loop 12 and IH-635, opened in 2015. However, the freeway main lanes remain the same, and these photos are still accurate for the main lanes.

The southbound frontage road just east of TX 183. As the Delux Inn for $23.95 per night suggests, this is not the best area of Dallas. It is mostly a warehouse/light industrial area. A few miles north at Northwest Highway is a concentration of restaurants, liquor stores, and gentlemen's clubs. (Photo date: 2-June-2007)
2015 Photo status: Building demolished The Delux Inn was demolished. It was in the path of the planned Trinity Parkway, which was canceled in 2017.
